Our verdict: Buy the ecosystem, not the chatbot. If Office is your day, Copilot earns its price in saved minutes; if not, look elsewhere.

Is Copilot Pro still available?
No. Microsoft stopped selling Copilot Pro in late 2025 and ended the remaining subscriptions on 1 August 2026. Premium Copilot inside Word, Excel and Outlook now comes with Microsoft 365 Premium ($19.99/month or $199.99/year), and only the subscription owner gets the AI features — other family members get Office and storage but not premium Copilot.
Is Copilot's chatbot as good as ChatGPT?
Taken standalone, no — it uses OpenAI models but the experience trails ChatGPT's own apps. Its value is location: inside Word, Excel and Outlook.
