Cancel AI subscription: do the boring checklist before renewal.
Most AI subscription waste is not fraud. It is three $20 plans quietly renewing after you stopped using two of them. Cancel the duplicates and keep the one that actually removes work.
Find every charge
Search your email and bank statement for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, Perplexity, xAI, AI bundle, Apple and Google Play. Many subscriptions hide behind app store billing.
Export what matters
Before canceling, save important chats, files, projects, prompts, generated images or invoices. Some services preserve data on downgrade; others limit access.
Cancel in the right place
Cancel where you bought: provider website, Apple subscriptions, Google Play, Microsoft account or Google One. A provider account page may not control an App Store subscription.
Replace the stack
If you are canceling because you pay for too many models, compare whether one native plan is enough or whether a multi-model plan is cheaper than two or three separate subscriptions.

FAQ
Short answers.
Which AI subscription should I buy first?
Buy the plan that removes a real bottleneck: writing, research, coding, office integration, files or model comparison. Do not buy the most expensive tier first.
Should I pay monthly or annually?
Start monthly unless you already used the tool for several weeks and know it fits. Annual discounts are only savings if you would keep the plan anyway.
Can one multi-model plan replace several native subscriptions?
Sometimes. If you mostly compare answers across models, a multi-model workspace can be cheaper. If you need a native app's exact workflow, keep the native plan.
